After being sacked from the force, former inspector general of the nigerian police force Suleiman Abba has officially handed over to the newly appointed Solomon Arase

It was gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan on tuesday sacked Suleiman Abba and appointed Solomon Arase (DIG) as acting inspector general with immediate effect

IGP Suleiman Abba, NPM, NPOM, mni
was the 17th Indigenous Inspector-
General of Police and was appointed by
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan,
GCFR. He formally took over on August 1,
2014 formally from former Police
boss,IGP MD Abubakar (Rtd)

Suleiman Abba comes from Gwaram Local
Government Area of Jigawa State, and holds degrees in History and Law and has
attended several management and
security courses within and outside
Nigeria. He is an alumnus of the National
Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies,
Kuru, Jos.

Prior to being appointmented as Mr. Abba’s
replacement, Mr. Arase was the Head of
the Force Criminal Intelligence and
Investigation Department.

Mr. Arase holds Bachelors and Masters
Degrees in Law, as well as Bachelors and
Masters Degrees in Political Science and
Strategic Studies.

He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian
Defence College.
