3 Adamawa villages attacked by boko haram insurgents for 3 days unhindered

Many are feared dead after suspected members of Islamist sect Boko Haram, attacked three villages in Adamawa state. The villages affected, are Sabon Gari, Kafin Hausa and Bakin Dutse of Madagali Local government Area of Adamawa State.

Most of the affected victims, where returning farmers and herdsmen whose houses, were set on fire, in an attack which was said to have lasted for as long as three(3) days unhindered. According to sources, as many as 50 houses were burnt by members of the sect.

According to reports from a Maiduguri based police officer who is an indigene of one of the affected area, his family house, was amongst the destroyed houses.

The officer who spoke to Vanguard anonymously disclosed that when some people alerted the security operatives stationed in Gulak and Madagali, there was no response until the whole place was destroyed by the insurgents.

“My distressed people called me about the deadly attacks that lasted for three days beginning from Wednesday, but no positive response until the whole villages were destroyed; many of our people might have been killed, but fortunately, after they returned to the troubled communities, they chose to spend their whole day and night in their farmlands for safety.”

He(the officer) also told vanguard that his community us now deserted as most people who survived, have fled.
