Ahead of Todays election in delta state, two men
suspected to be fake soldiers wearing
army uniforms were on Wednesday
arrested by a team of Highway Patrol
operatives on duty along Sapele/Warri
road in Sapele Local Government Area of
Delta State.

The two fake soldiers who gave their
names as Captain Adebayo A.Y ‘m’ and
Sgt. Hope Nduka ‘m’ were conveying
Indian hemp to an undisclosed
destination in a Toyota Hummer bus with
Reg. No. NA857B painted in army colour.
According to a Delta police spokes person,
DSP Celestina Kalu, the two suspects
disclosed that they reside at Okwele
quarters, Abbi in Delta State. The said fake
captain's actual name was given as Ossai
Ndidi.

Meanwhile, Delta State Governor, Dr
Emmanuel Uduaghan, disclosed this on
Thursday while addressing newsmen on
the state government's message to the
people of the state on the need for
orderly conduct of citizens during the
governorship and house of assembly on
Saturday.

Gov. Uduaghan assured of the
preparedness of the state government to
collaborate with INEC and the security
agencies towards a peaceful and successful election on April 11, 2015, was
He however warned troublemakers to
steer clear of polling centres and all
activities and places related to the
election on Saturday.

The governor, who stressed that "trouble
makers will not be give a breathing space"
during the electoral exercise, said he was
personally concerned that all Delta
citizens are safe during and after the
election.

He said that INEC "We have no wish that
anyone should come to harm in any way
during election" Dr Uduaghan said,
adding, It's all about democracy, the
people's choice.

INEC has assured that all observed
loopholes and discrepancies in the March
28, 2015 elections have been corrected
and that personnel and materials will be
adequately and delivered or distributed in
time for the electionon Saturday.

He said that INEC has also assured that
the card reader function without hitches
this time around will also be used for
accreditation of voters at the polling
centres throughout the state.

"This election will mark a watershed in the
annals of of our beloved Delta State. As
we go out to vote on Saturday, we should
please remember that it is not a do-or-die
affair. I have no wish that anyone should
come to harm It is peaceful election
where the leaders are freely chosen by
the people is the hallmark of democracy.

"There is life after elections", he noted
and urged the people to respect the
restriction on movement directed by the
concerned security agencies during the
exercise.

He urged the people to cooperate with
the security agencies to ensure that
elections are hitch-free. "We must follow
the rules; we must conduct ourselves in a
peaceful and orderly manner", he
advised.

He urged the people to be vigilant, saying
the government had information that
person using fake uniforms of security
agencies would be used, noting that two
persons suspected to be impersonating
soldiers were arrested in Sapele along
Sapele-Warri Road on Wednesday fully
kitted in Nigeria Army uniforms and
driving in a bus in army colours and
uniforms."

He advised the people to be vigilant,
though it was not clear if the two arrested
suspects had anything to do with the
coming election.
