A 32 year old man has been arrested by members of the nigerian police after attempting to Rob a lady at Ugep Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The man who is said to be a citizen of Cross River state, had on saturday 16 may, broke into the house of one Mrs Josephine Ebele while she was out.
Confirming the incident, Mrs Josephine who said she is married and her husband a bus driver, said "When I came back from my work, I discovered that my door was not locked. I was surprised because my husband had told me he wasn't going to be back for 2 days."
"When I entered the house, I realised my house had been thoroughly messed up. I became so confused. I had to call my husband to ask if he had come back. But he told me he wasn't coming back till monday."
"I immediately prompted my neighbours and Land-Lady. We decided to report the case to the police."
It was gathered that after investigations by the police, the suspect was apprehended and taken to the police station.
Confirming the incident, the District Police Commisioner said "A group of people came to our station, and reported that their house was been under attack."
"After narrating their experience, I had to strategies my men. And we began carrying out thorough investigations, and combing the area."
"Luckily, we found the criminal on sunday 17 may, with some of the items stolen from the house. He is currently in our custody for proper questioning to ascertain if he was with anybody."
Attempts to speak with the suspect was aborted by the police who said its better to allow the Nigerian Police do their Job first
