Chelsea's wing wizard, Eden Hazard, has successfully undergone a tooth surgery, after going through serious pains and tooth aches.
The Belgian, who was voted the Football Writers Association(FWA) player of the year, had on Wednesday undergone a surgery that saw three wisdom teeth removed, the FWA said. And as a result of the pains, wasn't available to collect his recent award (football writers footballer of the year award.) on Thursday.
The 24 years old Belgium international has featured in all 37 of Chelsea league matches this term, and finding the back of the net 19 times in all competitions. But is set to miss the final match of the season against sunderland in which Chelsea will be crowned champions for the first time since 2010.
The FWA in a statement issued on Thursday said ; "Hazard has undergone an emergency surgery, and will be unable to collect his award in person tonight."
"Due to the surgery, he will most certianly miss Chelsea's final game of the season at home to sunderland. The first he has/will miss all season."
In a related development, former Chelsea midfielder, who is regarded as a legend by the West London club, Giafranco Zola, is set to pay tribute to the Belgian, along side chairman Bruce Buck who will deliver a message to the clubs faithfuls.
