Due to growing concerns over plans of members of Nigerian Football Federation to hand pick coaches for recently re-appointed Super Eagles Coach Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, the 2013 Afcon winning coach, told sunday Vanguard that nobody. Can impose his assistant coach on the team he manages.
Relaying this, is his Manager who turns out to be his brother Emmanuel Addo. Keshi said he was only in consultation with president of the federation Amaju Pinnick, and the chairmain of the technical commitee Felix Ayansi-Agwu on how to make the super eagles great again, and how to avoid certain things which saw him run into trouble during his first spell in charge.
"On the issue of assistant coaches for the
Super Eagles, Keshi wants to make it clear
that he is the one who will decide who his
assistant coaches will be. Because it is a
fresh start and he wants to do things
differently, he is consulting with the NFF
President and the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Anyansi-Agwu and
even members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.
"Keshi is asking questions from all stakeholders because he wants to make
the team great again. It is not the NFF that
will decide who his assistant coaches will be because they are under him and are
going to work with him and nobody will force anybody on him", said Keshi's
manager.
Concerning things that will determine his choice, Mr Addo said "Keshi said he wants
assistant coaches who will tell him the
truth and not play eye service and
coaches who will work in harmony with
him".
The newly appointed coach will name his assistant before the 2017 Afcon qualifiers between Nigeria and Chad. Vanguard
