Such has been the poor form of Chelsea that manager, Jose Mourinho, had forgotten the winning feeling.
Speaking to daily mail after his sides victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv last night in the Uefa Champions League, the Portuguese tactician told Daily mail that due to the poor form of his club(Chelsea), many has labelled him a disaster. He quickly pointed out that no matter the result, he remains a top manager.
“There are people who are not happy with so many years and so many successes. It is human nature,” he said, according to the Daily Mail.
“Wayne Rooney was a disaster, and suddenly he beats the record with England and he’s suddenly the best player in the history of English football.
“You like up and down, but it’s not like that. Rooney is a fantastic player when he’s not scoring goals or when he is.
“I’m a fantastic manager when I’m not winning matches and I’m a fantastic manager when I am. The pundits get big money not to say easy things.
“They have to be geniuses in their analysis or they don’t deserve the money they get.
“I’d forgotten the winning feeling, it was so long we’d not won a game. So it’s a good, good feeling.”
Chelsea, who seat at 18th position in the Barclays Premier League with just 4 points in 5 BPL matches this season, started their Uefa Champions League campaign with a comfortable 4 - 0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday night.
