security expert and leader of Youths and Crime Prevention Initiative Nigeria, Mr. Opara Osita, has faulted the closure of Assemblies of God churches, mission schools and hospitals in Saminaka, Lere local council of Kaduna by the state government following the leadership crisis in the church.
Osita said that the state government should have looked for another way to resolve the crises rather than closure of these institutions.
Addressing a press conference, Osita remarked that the closure of the churches, schools and hospitals would escalate the crises rather than resolve it.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai last week directed that mission schools and hospitals belonging to the Assemblies of God Church be shut down, to avoid the leadership tussle in the church degenerating into a crisis in the state.
The churches that were shut down as a result of the crisis were the Assemblies of God Church, Nmbare and the Assemblies of God Church (Jerusalem), while the institutions affected are the Theological Seminary of Northern Nigeria (TSNN), Shalom Comprehensive College, and AGC Evangelist Hospital owned by the church.
