SIIB for defrauding 3 people by impersonating prof Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The fraud suspect who gave his name as Emmanuel Eto, was been arrested while attempting to defraud his fourth victim in Lagos state.
The commissioner of police , Mr Kayode Aderanti, received a complaint from Alhaji Rahman Akao who is a retired DIG about three weeks ago, that someone was going around social media platform(facebook) impersonating renowned member of the Apc Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and defrauding unsuspecting people huge sums of money with the pretest of a job offer.
The Police Commissioner immediately directed the officer in charge of the SIIB SP Veronica Ameh Akpa, to investigate the case.
It was learnt that SP Veronica Ameh, led a team of detectives into the investigation of the case. The team later traced the suspect to Delt state where he was apprehended.
9jadeck learnt that Eto, a National
Diploma, ND, 2 student of Delta State
Polytechnic, Oghara, had created a Facebook account with the name of the politician, which he then used to lure his victims with a job offer.
9jadeck was made to understand that Mr Eto, had successfully defrauded three persons, and was on to his fourth victim before he was arrested by. Operatives of the SIIB.
When questioned by 9jadeck team, Mr Eto stated that "I hail from Isoko South Local Government in Delta State. I did
what I did because my father is dead and my mother has been sick for a long time now.
"She has high blood pressure and has
been in and out of hospital. She was
recently discharged from the hospital.
"I always ask my victims if they have interested in working in Nigerian National Oil Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, or any other blue chip company. They get carried away and I usually ask the victim to pay a sum of N26,850 into my bank account for application forms and processing fee.
"It was while I was attempting to defraud the fourth person that I was arrested.
"I am really disappointed in myself. I want my mother to know that I loved her so much that I went into fraud to enable me take care of her medical expense."
