Last night, at least two(2) suspected members of boko haram, carried out separate bomb attacks in the Outskirt of the Nations capital, Abuja. The national Emergency Management Agency(NEMA), likened the explosive devices used to those in areas that are worst affected by the insurgents. The agency, also warned of casualties from the simultaneous explosions in Kuje and Nyanya.
Commenting on the twin explosion, Nema spokesman Manzo Ezekiel said.
“It was not an accidental explosion, definitely it was a bomb,”
“At this time we can only confirm the explosions. Our officers are on the ground. There are a number of dead persons, but we can’t say anything about numbers now.”
The news of the explosions, came around 10:30PM on Friday. The explosions, happened at a bus stop in Nyanya, and the other, occurred near a police station in Kuje
Kuje, which is very close to Abuja’s airport, is 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of the city centre and seat of government. Its prison is reportedly holding dozens of Boko Haram prisoners captured.
